We say that phrase a lot when we’re speaking with someone going through a tough season. We’ve probably been on the receiving end of that phrase when we’ve gone through our own trials. But what if we could imagine what they’re going through? What if we sat down and spent some time empathizing with how someone was feeling? Or celebrating something in someone’s life that deserves celebration?
"Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep". – Romans 12:15
Our imaginations allow us the awesome opportunity to empathize with one another. It allows us to view things as others view things, and better understand what they’re going through. The more we understand others in the season they are in, the more prepared we are to act and minister to them.
Think of someone in your life who is going through a season of trials or celebrations. Spend some time in prayer asking God to help you understand more fully what they’re going through. Then act – ask God to show you how to help this person in the season that they’re in. Share your story below!
