Thursday, May 20th - Becoming More Fulfilled

Do you ever feel like an unfinished work stuck in a state of incompletion? Maybe you struggle to create lasting change in your life and to kick faulty mindsets and thinking that lead you to make poor decisions. Or maybe failure after failure has you feeling defeated and you’re wondering if God has just forgotten about you. Wherever you are in life, I want you to hear this… God isn’t finished.

Think of God as the Potter (Isaiah 64:8). He is turning and sculpting each of us on His potter’s wheel, gently shaping us into the women He desires us to be. There are seasons of stretching and pulling, difficult times of squashing and restarting, and periods of gentle smoothing. The potter never walks away from the wheel, never leaves us or abandons us to our own shaping, and never gives up. He knows the work of art He is creating and has a beautiful picture in mind of what we’ll look like under His expert craftsmanship. It’s our choice as His creation to either submit to His loving hand or to fight against the work He is doing.

In Psalm 138:8, “fulfill” is the Hebrew word, “gamar,” which means to come to an end, complete. God will complete the promises He has made to you – to care for you, to give you a purpose for your life, to walk beside you, and to help you become more like Jesus. He is always at work because His steadfast love endures forever. We are the work of His hands and He is faithful to finish the work He has begun in us. Paul said it this way to the church at Philippi, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6.

If you’re feeling as if you’re “in process” right now, comment a heart below. We are all in process and God is working to fulfill the work He has planned for us. He will bring about the work of fulfillment in our lives.
