“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” - John 14:26 (NIV)

Jesus came to earth as a man to experience life with us. He laughed and cried, rejoiced and mourned, knew physical hunger, and knew what it was like to be well-fed. But His life here on earth wasn’t meant to last forever. He was accepting of the limitations of His earthly form. Even as He knew He would be leaving, Jesus loved us so much that He wanted to send His Spirit to be with us forever. A constant companion, not limited to a specific time period or geographical place. He sent the same Spirit that lived in Him to live in us after He was gone. The Holy Spirit is our eternal Comforter and Advocate with the Father, pleading on our behalf and praying for us when we have no words left to give (Romans 8:26).
