Friday, January 1st - Becoming More Hopeful

Happy New Year, friends! On Fridays here at Becoming More we typically strive to put what we’ve learned into action. So, this week as we’ve talked about Becoming More Hopeful, we have a challenge for you, and it’s especially timely since today is the first day of a brand-new year! Here is our question for you today: how can you give hope to someone? It doesn’t have to be a huge, elaborate gesture, but as a kickstart to 2021, how can you meet someone with a cheerful, giving spirit and instill a sense of hope in them?

You could do this by buying someone’s lunch in the drive thru behind you, by holding the door for someone, or by letting someone get in front of you in the line at the grocery store. You could tell someone you appreciate them, compliment a friend, or share a smile with a stranger as you pass them on the sidewalk. You could share your story of faith with someone, tell someone Jesus loves them, or that you love and accept them. Whatever it may be, we encourage you to take a step into what may be uncomfortable and give someone the gift of hope.

So how are you gifting hope on this first day of a new year? What other ways can we encourage each other to offer hope today? We’d love to hear your stories of hope in the comments below!
