Friday, January 28th - Becoming More Deliberate

Who loves a good pedicure? Give this post a like if you do!

I love it when I glance down at my toes freshly polished with a new shade and when my feet are hydrated and well cared for. As fun as this is, looking good is not the purpose of my feet. These feet were made for walking and that’s just what they do… all day long from the moment I get up until the moment I go to bed.

Many people treat their faith like a good pedicure. They like to try out new bible studies, go to the church with the best worship band, or listen to the preacher who makes you feel the best at the end of the message. When you do these things, you feel good about what you’ve done, and they make you look really holy. But faith wasn’t meant to be consumed. Faith was meant for walking out… all day long from the moment you get up until the moment you go to bed.

Paul says it like this in Romans 10:14-15, “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’”

It’s time to stop consuming faith and start walking it out. It’s time to stop receiving and start giving. It’s time to stop polishing our faith and put those beautiful feet into action. It’s time that we all become more deliberate in our pursuit of multiplying leaders and spreading the gospel.
