Week 1, Day 1: Encountering God through Jesus
“But Jesus came and touched them. ‘Get up,’ He said. ‘Don’t be afraid.’ When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.” Matthew 17:7-8 (NIV)
Jesus came to show us the way to the Father. We see the Father as we encounter the Son. Jesus bridges the gap between God’s holiness and our sinfulness and makes a way for us to come to the Father when we accept His gift of forgiveness for our sins. We put on the robe of Jesus’ holiness so we can approach the Father directly and have a relationship with Him just as Jesus has a relationship with Him. Don’t be afraid to approach the Father. Don’t cower in fear. Jesus made a way for you to have a relationship with God- fix your eyes on Jesus and He will show you the way to the Father. Walk through the door Jesus unlocked for you and come home to the Father.
