Thursday, January 14th - Becoming More Deliberate

Many of us have weaknesses and doubts running through our minds, especially when we think about potentially leading others. The enemy reminds us of all the times we’ve failed, how little we actually know, and how we can’t even trust ourselves so we obviously can’t trust others.

By tying our value to our weaknesses, we excuse ourselves from going to the next step in fulfilling Jesus’ command to make disciples. In 1 Peter 2:9, Peter counteracts that negative picture of ourselves and reminds us of who we are. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

Your weaknesses don’t disqualify you, they qualify you. Your failings don’t define you, they refine you. You are chosen by God. He put a crown on your head and clothed you in His righteousness. He has cleansed you from the inside out and has set His light inside of you. Think like a daughter of the King. Believe in who He says you are and walk out of the darkness and into His light. Then carry His light with you into the darkness and share Him with others.
