What are you devoted to? Are you devoted to your spouse? What about your family? Are you devoted to your kids? Are you devoted to your work? What about your friends? What would make you say, “Ah, yes! I’m devoted to that!”
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” -Colossians 4:2
I don’t know about you, but when I (Gracie) think of the things I’m devoted to, prayer is not the first thing that comes to mind. If I’m being honest, I don’t even think it would make the list of things I’d say I’m devoted to.
Scripture calls us not only to pray, but to be devoted to it. The definition of devoted is to give all or a large part of one's time or resources to. Do you give a large part of your time to prayer?
Today’s post is not intended to make us feel guilty about not being devoted to prayer; it’s an encouragement that we can start today! Start by continually, throughout the day, saying prayers to God of thankfulness and gratefulness for all He is and for the many ways He is moving.
We can even start right now! What’s a prayer of gratefulness that you’d like to offer God? Let us know in the comments!
