Yesterday we discussed our mirrored reflection being a picture of Christ and not of us. In order to understand that more, let’s look at the beginning of Genesis: “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” - Genesis 1:27 (NLT). Many of us are very familiar with this verse, as it refers back to the explanation of creation. The weight of this verse leaves me breathless! It is astounding to think God, the creator of Heaven and Earth, longed to create humans! But that He took it a step further and created us in His image is even more amazing! The One, who is flawless, decided we, who are full of flaws, could reflect Him. As we were all created in His image, He gave us unique personalities, emotions, and hearts. He created us with a spiritual nature that empowers us to know Him and worship Him. It is impossible to reflect the image of God without The Holy Spirit being present within us. What would it look like to lay down your own notions of what a woman should be and pick up what we know to be the truth through Christ? Will you make the decision with me, today, to better reflect Christ?
