Week Six, Day Two
Read Matthew 26:36-46.
Jesus knew the cross was before Him. He had been born for this moment; this was the reason He was placed on earth. In these last hours of his life, Jesus took His three closest friends with Him deep into the garden and asked them to keep watch with Him. In the same way the disciples were asked to be watchful and assist Jesus in the spiritual battle facing Him, we are to be spiritually watchful today – not just for ourselves but for the sake of others.
Awareness Prayer – God, open my eyes so I can be watchful.
Reflection Question – How would the world be affected if all believers awakened from their spiritual slumber?
